Queen of Apostles School Auction RaffleOFFICIAL RULES
1) TO ENTER: Tickets may be purchased through a Queen of Apostles (Q of A)student, parent or staff member; and will also be available before and after mass at Queen of Apostles Church, at school scrip sales tables, and at the raffle booth at drawing events. Ticket prices are as follows:
a. $25 = 1 entry ticket into raffle for 1st – 3rd place prizesand any Early Bird drawings* that have not already taken place.
b. $100 = 4 entry tickets into the 1st – 3rd place prize raffle and any Early Bird drawings* that have not already taken place,
PLUS1 Golden Ticket for entry into Grand Prize drawing for the car or $10,000 cash! This is the only way to enter the
raffle for the car/$10,000, as only Golden Tickets will be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing.
Purchasing a raffle ticket, providing complete information on the ticket stub and returning it to the seller ensures that the purchaser will be entered into all applicable drawings. As a receipt and for verification purposes, purchaser needs to retain the non-stub portion of the ticket containing a unique entry number matching the number on the winning ticket stub.
c. Drawings for the 1st – 3rd Prize Raffle and the Grand Prize Raffle will take place during the Auction event on Saturday, May 21st on the Queen of Apostles campus. The winning ticket for 3rd Prize, then 2nd Prize, then 1st Prize will be drawn from a bin containing the white and blue ticket stubs that were sold for $25 or came free with the purchase of a Golden Ticket. Following this, the winning ticket for the Grand Prize will be drawn from a bin containing only the gold stubs from the $100 Golden Tickets purchased.
d. Two interim “Early Bird” drawings will take place before the night of the auction, on Friday April 15th and Friday May 13th between 3:15 and 3:30 pm. A single winning ticket will be drawn from all entries into the 1st – 3rd prize raffle purchased prior to the Wednesday before the Friday drawing dates or at the drawings events themselves. The winning tickets for the two interim drawings will be placed back into the bin and will be eligible for any applicable subsequent drawings. On the night of the auction, 2nd and 3rd place winning tickets will not be placed back into the bin and will not be eligible for future drawings.
2) WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners need not be present at any of the drawings. Purchasers of winning tickets not present when their ticket is drawn will be notified within two (2) days of the drawing event at the contact phone number given on the winning ticket stub. After three (3) unsuccessful attempts a letter will be mailed to the address listed on the winning ticket stub instructing the winner on how to claim their prize. Winning ticket holders name and city of residence will also be posted on the Queen of Apostles website at
www.qofa-school.org. See information on claiming prizes below.
3) ODDS: The odds of winning and prize are dependent on the number of entries in any particular drawing.
4) PRIZES: For the 1st – 3rd Prize Drawing, prizes will be awarded as follows:
a. 1st Prize: One Year Free Tuition for One Child* or $5,000 Cash
(*Valued at approximately $7,000. Valid for the 2011-2012 school year only. Child must be accepted and enrolled at Q of A school.)
b. 2ndPrize: One Year Free Extended Care for One Child* or $2,500 Cash
(*Valued at approximately $3,500. Valid for the 2011-2012 school year only. Child must be accepted and enrolled at Q of A school.)
c. 3rd Prize: $650 Hot Lunch Certificate* & a$250 Merry Mart Gift Card** & $600 Scrip Gift Cards*** or $1,000 Cash
(*Lunch certificate valid for Q of A Hot Lunch program only. Must be used during the 2011-2012 school year by one child enrolled at Q of A school. **Merry Mart is the official supplier of Q of A school uniforms. ***Winner can choose from a wide selection of gift cards available through the Q of A scrip program.)
For the Early Bird Drawings, prizes will be awarded as follows:
d. $500 cash for the April 15th drawing
e. $500 cash for the May 13th drawing
For the Golden Ticket Drawing, prizes will be awarded as follows:
f. Grand Prize: A New 2011 Toyota Corolla* or $10,000 Cash
(*Valued at approximately $19,000. Payment of tax and license fees is included in prize. Purchase is arranged through Stevens Creek Toyota.)
5) TO CLAIM A PRIZE: Every reasonable effort will be made to contact winning ticket holders by the methods detailed here and in section 2above. Winning ticket holders who are present at a drawing event will be instructed to speak with a Q of A representative about their choice of prize and claim procedure. Winners not present will be contacted by the methods in section 2 and will choose their prize and learn how to claim it at that time. Depending on drawing event and prize choice, some items may be available to take home from the event, but in any case all prizes with contacted winners will be distributed by Friday May 27th. Any prizes that remain unclaimed by 11:59pm on Friday June 10th will revert to the cash option. If there are any cash prizes that have not been claimed by 11:59 pm on Thursday, June 30th, they will be returned to the school as a donation and the winning ticket holder relinquishes all rights to claim the prize.
6) ELIGIBILITY: The Raffle is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and who are 18 years of age or older.
7) PRIVACY POLICY: Any information collected from Entrants to the raffle will be used solely by Q of A School to administer and otherwise properly conduct the raffle and will not be shared with any other person(s) for any other purpose. Stubs will be destroyed following completion of the raffle.
8) GENERAL CONDITIONS:
a. Each drawing winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release when claiming their prize.
b. Winners are responsible for any applicable Federal, State, or local taxes. If applicable, an IRS Form 1099 will be supplied to winning ticket holders.
c. Q of A will not replace any lost, misplaced or stolen prizes.
d. Q of A is not responsible for any errors in raffle advertising and/or any printed raffle materials.
