Queen of Apostles students usher in new school year prayerfully

October 2013

The first school Mass of the 2013-2014 year at Queen of Apostles School, San Jose, took place Sept. 13, celebrated by Bishop Patrick J. McGrath with new pastor Father Thuc Si Ho, themed to “Together We Walk In Jesus’ Footsteps.”
Representatives from each class presented their promises to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. This year celebrates the school’s 50th anniversary. This year’s Student Council was commissioned during the Mass.
The Student Council Vice President asked students to pray to Jesus to show one another how to live faithfully, hope joyfully and love courageously, and that Jesus open their minds and hearts to all that is good, true and beautiful.
The Student Council Treasurer asked for God’s guidance for the Student Council as they lead and model the school-wide Learning Expectations. Readings for the Mass reminded students to care for one another and to act as friends of Jesus.
