Queen of Apostles School (San Jose) families gathered as students from kindergarten through eighth grade processed into the parish church for the Christmas program directed and orchestrated by Mrs. Kristie Manning and Mrs. Donna Vehawn. The story began as the Angel Gabriel paid a visit to Mary telling her she would bear a son. The first song is an imagined conversation between Mary and God in which Mary asks God to send an angel to speak to Joseph on her behalf. To reflect the imagined details of this conversation, seventh and eighth grade girls sang “His Name Is Joseph.” This was followed by the sixth grade class singing “Emmanuel,” representing the fulfilled prophesy. As a group of “shepherds” approached to witness this, the kindergarten class sang “While By My Sheep.” The birth of Jesus was celebrated as the fifth grade class sang “Welcome To Our World.”   To reflect what Joseph may have been feeling throughout this blessed event, seventh and eighth grade boys sang “Joseph’s Song.”   As their finale, students processed into the church and invited all the families to join them in a rendition of “Joy To The World.”
