Queen of Apostles School eighth graders hard at work on their iPads.

Queen of Apostles School, San Jose, has rolled out iPad usage for educational enrichment in its eighth grade class. Current usage includes note-taking, research and presentations. Students have also utilized the iPads to create videos and do other projects. The school has also deployed a smaller mobile cart that is shared by kindergarten through seventh grades. These iPads are loaded with applications that are grade specific and are used by each class for one hour a week.

Primary use for the shared iPads is for fine-tuning of math skills, research for projects and assistance in presentations.
Students in the younger grades (K-3) use the iPads to practice letter formation, spelling, and math facts. One eighth grader said, “iPads make learning fun. We are learning the same things but in an exciting new way.”
